The beaches on Bald Head Island are currently open to the public. Please remember to avoid large social gatherings and wear face masks when possible. Some major events and gatherings, such as the Howl at the Moon and the Turtle Trot, have been canceled in order to maintain safe conditions on the Island.
If you feel sick or symptomatic, please self-quarantine inside your home. For health emergencies, call 911 and tell the dispatcher that you are on Bald Head Island.
The Bald Head Island Ferry has been running every 30 minutes with a 75 passenger maximum. All passengers are required to wear “hands free” face masks. Expect longer than normal lines and maintain a 6 ft distance while waiting in line. Tram reservations are available online and by phone. The ferry schedule has been constantly changing, so make sure to visit baldheadislandferry.com/status, before arriving at Deep Point Marina. Island Times Cafe at Deep Point Marina is open from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The cafe is open from 9 am to 5 pm Thursday through Sunday. Call 910-269-2337 to have a sandwich or snack ready when you arrive.
Our office is currently only open through reservation. If you would like to tour our office or schedule a meeting with a real estate agent, please call us at 910.470.0000. Open houses will be posted through our social media apps and can be found on our website at wendywilmotproperties.com/real-estate/open-houses/. Please remember to follow the CDC’s social distancing guidelines while visiting our open houses. We urge you to bring a face mask and maintain 6ft distance from other guests.
Delphina’s and Marina Pizza: Both are currently open from 11:30 am to 8 pm. Call in your order 30 minutes in advance and pick up food outside. Visit delphinabhi.com for more information.
Jules’ Salty Grub and Island Pub: Both the main menu and sushi are available for order. Call in a to-go order or visit the restaurant. No reservation is necessary to be served. For more information, visit julessaltygrubbhi.com.
Lulu’s BBQ: BBQ orders from noon to 7 pm
Mike’s Bites is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10:30 am to 5 pm.
Sandpiper Coffee and Ice Cream: Coffee and Snacks available daily from 8 am to 8 pm through the outside walk up counter.
Shopping & Attractions
All About Art is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The store is open from noon to 5 pm on Sundays. They are closed on Monday. Face masks are not required, but are recommended.
Antique Maps and More is currently only open upon request. If you would like to make a reservation, please call us at 910.470.0000.
Bald Head Blues is open from 9 am to 6 pm.
Bald Head Island Conservancy has canceled all 2020 summer camps. All 2020 summer programs can be scheduled by request only. Groups of 10 people or less can request a private program with the BHIC education staff. All programs require participants to wear face masks, except for kayaking. Bald Head Island Dockmaster Store: 9 am to 4 pm daily.
Coastal Urge is open from 10 am to 6 pm.
Island Hardware is open from 7:30 am to 4 pm. The hardware store is closed on Sundays. Face masks are required inside the store, and the number of customers is limited.
Island Package Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. Everyone inside is required to wear proper face coverings.
Island Retreat Spa is open Monday-Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm, and Sunday noon-5 pm. Select classes and reservations are available online.
Maritime Market and Cafe: The market is open from 8 am to 8 pm. Currently, 8 am to 9 am is reserved for immune-compromised customers. The rest of the day a store has a 50 customer maximum. All customers are required to wear proper face masks. The cafe will accept the last pizza order at 7 pm each night so that the kitchen can be shut down by 8 pm. The Ice Cream Shop closes at 7 pm each night.
Noonie Doodle is open from 10 am to 6 pm. Please wear a mask when shopping.
Old Baldy Lighthouse: The Old Baldy gift shop will be open on Tuesday- Saturdays from 10-4 and Sundays from 11-4. The gift shop will be closed on Mondays. Both the Lighthouse and the Museum are closed. Inside the gift shop face mask are required and only two shoppers are allowed at one time. The store is only accepting credit and debit, and the restrooms will be closed. Old Baldy has multiple online resources on their Facebook, such as online virtual tours.
Sail Shop is open daily from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
Silver Peddler is closed Monday and Tuesday. The store is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Turtle Central is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. 10-11 am is reserved for immune-compromised customers only. Turtle Central currently has set a 7 customer max inside the store.
Clubs (Membership required)
Both the Bald Head Island Club and Shoals Club are open to temporary and full time members. Many activities, such as visiting the pool, dining, or playing golf, require a reservation in advance.
Bald Head Island Club:
Dining, golf, tennis, croquet, and pool available through reservation. Please visit bhiclub.net for more information about your club membership and the hours of the club’s restaurants. The pool is currently only available to guest that have made a reservation in advance. Dining and pool available through reservation. To make a reservation, call 910.454.4888. Temporary members can call 24-hours in advance to make reservations for the pool. The Aqua restaurant still requires reservations in order to be served. Both the Latitudes and the Sandbar Grille do not require reservations. Guest can eat at Latitudes and the Sandbar Grille without a reservation, and tables are first come first serve.
