WWP
Welcomes New Team Members
Wendy
Wilmot Properties is pleased to bring two new team members on board, both
of whom are full-time Bald Head Island residents. John “JP” Pitera and Buddy Lawrence are
bringing fresh ideas and new energies to our team. We are excited by their enthusiasm and
passion for the Island, and look forward to working side by side with
them for years to come!
John
Pitera
John and his wife,
Andrea, moved to BHI as full time residents almost 10 years ago after
closing their furniture store in Connecticut. It was love at first sight
for them and BHI.
They built their first house on south beach and after six years on the
ocean sold it and built their second house on the marsh at Middle Island.
John has been very active on BHI, volunteering for nine years on the fire
department and has served for the last six years on the Village Council.
He is also an avid golfer and physical fitness nut. In the past year he
ran a marathon in Bar Harbor, Maine, two half marathons in North Carolina
and recently did a sprint triathlon in Winston Salem, N.C.
He has also been very active at the BHI Club and is well known around the
island.
All that being said his real passion is collecting wine. He has a four
thousand bottle wine cellar in his home and loves to spend time
talking about wine and the foods that go with it.
He and Andrea enjoy cooking and are known Island-wide for their fantastic
home-made pizza. John claims his spaghetti and meatballs, made from
a recipe passed down from his Nana, have no match.
John
is new to Real Estate sales but knows BHI intimately. He is eager
to share his passion for the Island to help you fulfill your Island
dreams.
Buddy Lawrence
Buddy joins our
team with great enthusiasm and a sales and service background to
match.
He
grew up in Greensboro, graduated from Page High School and then onto UNC
in Chapel Hill. There, Buddy received a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Business Administration. Next stop, The Republic of South Viet Nam where
he served a tour of duty with the United States Army as a medical
corpsman.
Buddy
and his wife, Betty, moved to Warrenton, Virginia where Buddy owned and
operated a Chevrolet Dealership until he sold it in 1997. Along the way,
he became a board member of a local community bank and later served as
its Chairman until his retirement early this year.
Buddy
and Betty have been property owners on Bald Head Island since 1998 and
have now chosen to make Bald Head their permanent residence. They have
three married daughters and five grandchildren. They both enjoy golf, and
Buddy loves to get out on his boat and fish the creeks in and around the
island.
Buddy’s
banking background and intimate knowledge of Bald Head Island will help
both buyers and sellers in the current market.
