Islanders Successfully Fend Off Another Pirate Invasion!

This year’s Pirates Are Coming! invasion was a blast – literally! Even though the rain held things up a bit, pirates blasted their cannons at us and thrilled all in attendance. Even the famous “Kate + 8” came back to Bald Head Island to enjoy the fun! Children and adults all made the most of another great Bald Head Island weekend.

Conservancy News

Sometimes we just have to stop a minute, put the great deals and fabulous BHI properties to the side to remember all the reasons they became so fabulous... Bald Head Island. Why is it that BHI is so appealing? What draws people here and then captures them for the long term? Why is staying here well into the Golden Years so important to so many BHI stakeholders? We believe it is the heart and soul of the Island.... the way nature continues to thrive... the dunes continue to undulate around us.... the way the natural forces here preserves us as much as we preserve it. The BHI Conservancy reminds us of that very fact this week in their news letter.

Sea Turtle hatchlings have taken advantage of the warmer weather and have been hatching up to 10 days earlier than they should. Acrobatic sharks off the Frying Pan Shoals, dune-dwelling foxes, unusual Tern sightings, a rather large alligator with an appetite for snakes, and other Island reptiles in hiding from the soaring temperatures mark just a few of the more interesting stories in the past few weeks’ Conservancy articles.
