Don’t Forget Your Rental Taxes

Daralyn Spivey, BHI Tax Collections, published a tax reminder for anyone currently renting their Island property, or having the property rented via a Rental Agency. The main points are listed below, but please click here to read the details and make sure you are fully informed.

· If you rent your home, you are required to remit to BHI the 6% occupancy tax;

· A report should be filed each month for rental homes, whether your home is renter-occupied or not;

· If a rental agency handles your property, the agent will levy, collect, & report all taxes

· If you should fail or refuse to file the required tax, a penalty shall be imposed;

· In addition to the 6% BHI taxes due, the state of NC is also due 7% of the gross rental income.

BHI Golf Course Review

Alan Blondin, writer and reviewer for the Sun News of Myrtle Beach, SC, composed a positive review of the newly renovated Bald Head Island golf course for his monthly Golf Course Review.
