Cynthia Woods Mitchell

 

We would like to take a moment to extend to the Mitchell family our deepest condolences. Kent and Mark Mitchell’s mother passed away early Sunday morning, December 27.  Mrs. Mitchell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002.

The funeral was a private ceremony, with a memorial service held on January 4 in Galveston, Texas. The family requested that, instead of flowers,  donations be made to either The George P. and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center in Alzheimer's Disease and Related Brain Disorders or The George P. and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases. Either of these research centers welcome donations anytime and all charitable gifts are greatly appreciated. Please see contact details below.

Mayor Sayre on Bald Head Island

 

 

Andy Sayre was officially sworn in as the new Mayor of Bald Head Island on December 18, 2009 and will serve Bald Head Island for the next four years. Andy is already reaching out to Island stakeholders and encouraging more citizen participation. Congratulations Mayor Sayre!
