A Busy Week for Bald Head Island

Bald Head Island was quite the popular hangout over the past week. The Gala in White and annual Fishing Rodeo were a blast. Our normally relaxed Island was abuzz from the presence of celebrity-hunters from TMZ in search if of Kate Gosselin and her now famous brood of 8!

 

Kate Gosselin and husband Jon from the Reality TV series “Jon & Kate plus 8” have been major media targets for the past few weeks. Kate and her children visited Bald Head Island this past week, with body guards in tow, to relax and try to get away from the chaos. For more on the famous visit, please see StarNewsOnline.com. 

 

While BHI is no stranger to famous visitors, we have managed to receive quite a bit of media exposure from this last one. With all of the extra Island buzz this week, our agents have stayed busy networking and talking to potential clients.

 

We also celebrated the Grand Opening of Deep Point Marina this morning (June 2) with ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mark Mitchell held the honors of the actual ribbon-cutting with the support of Steve Robertson, Woody Fulton, Jim Henry, and Karen Sphar. It was a proud day for many as this marked the completion of a decade-old dream. The building is beautiful and truly captures the modern essence of our historical Island!
