My favorite bush, the Beauty Berry, is in full bloom with dark purple berries all over the island.  This is the time of year for the Beauty Berry to really shine as is the whole island.  The sunsets are spectacular!!  Overall, it’s a wonderful time on the island.  Many people are taking advantage of the cooler temperatures to be here.  This past week we had some weddings on the Island and some much needed rain.  All is refreshed and ready for you to enjoy.  We are still holding Open Houses as you will see on our website and people are stopping by to view.  We’d love to see you here and talk with you about the excellent opportunities available to you.  Give us a call and remember……

BHI club sponsors the first candidates forum Monday October 5^th

Elections are heating up and we want to keep you posted on Bald Head Island’s first Mayoral Election. Candidates Andy Sayre, Larry Lammert, and John Fisher will participate in two Candidates Forums.  The first forum will be held at the Bald Head Island Club from 4:30PM until 6:30PM on Monday, October 5^th.

Written questions from the community are encouraged and may be received any time after September 30. All questions should be emailed to Forum Moderator, Ricki Grantmyre, at rgrantmyre@bellsouth.net, or may be delivered in person at the forum until either 6PM or until candidates begin their closing comments, whichever comes first.

Before submitting questions, please review the Candidates’ written questions and answers posted on the BHA website, bhinews.com. All questions will be screened by a committee of three individuals for duplications, appropriate subject matter, and to ensure that no questions are insulting or personal.

Each Candidate will have three minutes to make an opening statement as well as three minutes for closing comments. Candidates shall address all comments to the audience and not to each other, as this is not a debate format.

Speaker order will be determined via draw. Opening comments and the first question will be asked to the Candidate drawing number one. First Candidate will have two minutes to answer the question. Candidates two and three respectively will then have 45 seconds to comment on the question. The forum will proceed in this manner until 6:15PM or until all questions are answered, whichever comes first.
