Mike McIntyre & BHI
Please
attend a reception for the Honorable Mike McIntyre, Member of the United
States House of Representatives for our 7th District of North
Carolina. As a ranking Member of the House Committee on Armed Services,
Congressman McIntyre is very familiar with procedures the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers follows in mitigating beach erosion and other problems that
navigation projects can and do create for adjacent communities. He is
also very familiar with Bald Head’s specific challenges and has been our
ally in Washington for years.
The
reception will be held at the home of Adie Coy, 710 Shoals Watch near the
Shoals Club on Saturday, July 10 from 5:00 to 6:30. The cost to attend is
$150 per person. There are also sponsorships at levels of Platinum $2000,
Gold $1000, Silver $500 and Bronze $250 which cover attendance of a

4th of July on BHI
 The July 4th
Holiday will be as festive as ever on Bald Head Island.... You WON’T want
to miss it!
This
patriotic weekend will be ushered in with the Stars & Stripes Scavenger
from 1PM – 4PM on Wednesday. Thursday is full of fun with the Sand castle
Building competition from 9:30 AM – 12:30PM, the Salt Marsh Trek from
1PM-2PM, Patriotic Tie-Dye from 2-3:30PM, and Oyster Roast at the
Harbourside Pavilion from 6-10PM.
Families
can compete on Friday from 10:30AM – 1PM in the Beach Family Olympics
before heading over to the BHI Conservancy Annual Benefit Picnic. Join
the fun in the Common at Cape Fear Station from 4PM until 8PM. Children’s
activities, Beer Garden, Silent Auction, Live Bluegrass, a great Raffle
and great food will entertain all who attend. Admission is free, adult
meal tickets are $16, children 13 & under are $8, and kids under 3
eat free!
Saturday
will be a laid back day of social enjoyment with the Uncle Sam Fun Run,
Crabbing & Cast Netting, the BHI Artisans Show, Kayaking and Wine
Tasting at the Market.
The
much-enjoyed Golf cart Parade on July 4th will be led by Ed
Brantley& Heba  Salama of The Biggest Loser. They may have
shed a combined total of 277 pounds for the show,
but they will be trailed by what may be over 100 golf carts this Sunday!
The carts will be competing for the title of Overall Best of Bald Head
Island, Environmental, Tacky Tourist, and Most Patriotic.
Later, come out and enjoy the Red, White & Blue
cookout, Family Crab Boil, and Waterman’s Retreat Movie Night.
Monday wraps it up with the official 4th
of July Fireworks demonstration! This is a “Don’t Miss” event for the
entire family. Bring out your blankets and smiles, because it will be a
night to remember!
