Well,
it looks and feels like summer is winding down a bit. Weather wise, we
have been in the 80’s with low humidity. Fabulous! Population-wise, with
some schools opening, the Island is winding down a little.
Real
estate-wise, I am busy as every with great open house traffic. However,
there is one more really big weekend coming up - Labor Day Weekend. This
is the beach music extravaganza in the Harbour pavilion. Great bands all
weekend, winding up with the Band of Oz Sunday night. Great weather,
great music and just a lot of great folks saying goodbye to the summer.
On the business side of my life, as I said, I remain busy and have really
enjoyed helping people reach their Island goals and dreams. We closed on
206 Stede Bonnet this Monday. Happy buyer. Happy seller... And that’s
what it is all about.
Bald Head Island, there is just no place I would rather be.
Look

Hurricane
Irene Update
The
Village of Bald Head Island issued a public notice on Wednesday afternoon
to notify Islanders that we have entered into a Level 1 Weather Alert. This
just means that there is a possibility that there could be an emergency
situation within 72 hours. EOT will hold a meeting on Thursday afternoon
to assess the hurricane situation and will post additional information
accordingly.
While
BHI is certainly not completely out of harm’s way, the focus is now
directed more in the New England area. As of Wednesday afternoon, it
looks like Irene will likely “skirt” the NC coast and head straight for
the northern states. The last hurricane of this magnitude to hit the
upper New England states was in 1938, according to National Hurricane
Center Director Bill Read.
We
will continue to monitor the updates as they come in.
Earthquake
in VA Felt on Bald Head Island!
Bald
Head Island residents and visitors enjoyed a warm, lazy Tuesday at the
beach today while we here at WWP felt some major shaking going on… Could
it have been shocks resonating from the large 5.9 earthquake in Virginia?
Nah. It was just the bottom of the market we felt!... Must mean there is
nowhere but up from here! Cheers to what should now be a fantastic fall
