Originally from Birmingham, Alabama , Ginger attended The University of Alabama and had a successful career with a children's clothing manufacturer. Ginger's husband David is a metallurgical engineer and has his own consulting firm. They have a son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons, Gus and Charlie, who live in Thomasville, Georgia.
